Sensory Dimensions at SCS Formulate

Sensory Dimensions attended the Society of Cosmetics Scientists (SCS) Formulate Exhibition last week in Coventry along with many other representatives from the personal care and cosmetics industry.

Sustainability was undoubtedly the key focus with ingredient suppliers, product manufacturers and formulation service providers presenting new and innovative materials and tools which could inspire the products of tomorrow and aligning with the shift towards more sustainable goods and services. A specific programme of sessions covering the topic of sustainability were delivered by expert speakers through the 'Sustainability Studio' encompassing discussions from legislation, standards, and raw materials to formulation, packaging and recycling.

The topic of health and well-being was also heavily debated during the interactive seminars and speaker sessions. Discussions surrounding research and analysis suggest consumer trends are moving away from products that promote the benefits of anti-ageing and towards products containing ingredients that are proven to benefit the consumers health and well-being. This corresponds with goods and services in other industry sectors and is where we are seeing an explosion of new products in this field coming to market.
