Sensory Dimensions at The Insights Show

Pam Beyts went along to the Insights Show at Kensington Olympia last week. The show is the place to meet research providers and see new techniques and ideas for the first time. As well as making her way around the 100 or so exhibition stands, Pam attended a few of the conference presentations.

Of special interest were technical advances in creating great virtual reality (VR) content. In consumer product testing creating the right context is often critical to obtaining meaningful data. VR provides us with a way to do this cost effectively, whilst still being able to work within our SD facility with all its inherent advantages for sample storage, handling and control. So, we are very excited to learn more in this area.

The importance of context was also highlighted in the story of Radlar told by Haystack and Heineken. The challenges faced in terms of sample presentation and serving to align with local culture are very familiar to us at Sensory Dimensions as they will be to all involved in international product testing. Plus, there are the inevitable problems of moving products around the globe!
